Yoga Inside, Outside, On the Screen and Inside Out

Remember this beautiful tree, which flowers spectacularly and fleetingly each Spring? Remember the sound of the train rattling and juddering through the Village? Both have lifted my heart this week; signs of welcome as I resumed teaching classes in our studio. Both brought a swell of feeling that simultaneously choked me up and made me laugh out loud. Seeing actual people come in that door with their mats and their masks and open hearts makes me feel everything all at once. One student walked in the open door today and gazing around the studio asked, "Is this real"?
I knew exactly what she meant.

One feeling that has not wavered at all is confidence in our collective safety. The high powered air exchange system replenishes the air every 10 minutes. We are all vaccinated and mindful of masking up on entering and leaving. I feel as safe and protected as anyone can, in our current situation. I'm so grateful for your smiles, your gratitude for this practice, your presence.

It's been both a wonderful and challenging week—uplifting but also frustrating and daunting at times while I grapple with yet more technical problem solving. I'm gradually getting used to teaching people who are in the studio while simultaneously teaching people who are joining by livestream....doing the best I can, hoping it is enough.

We got off to a gradual trickle this week, rather than a (socially distanced) stampede. I look forward to welcoming more of you as you complete vaccination and regain your sense of trust in being in controlled, small gatherings. If you look ahead on the calendar you'll see that more of the teachers are returning: Angie next week, and in weeks following Elisabeth, Sammy and Pam will all be teaching in the studios.

Be well, all, and may the sunlight and warmth bring you joy. Hope to see you soon.

Love,
Leslie
