Hope this Labor Day finds you rested and enjoying a truly spectacular, early September afternoon. 13 years ago today (thank you Allison Schned, for reminding me!) we held our first official class as Upper Valley Yoga at the Black Community Center in Hanover. Kat Smith (then Frorer) and I ran an ad for a free Labor Day class and much to our astonishment, a huge number of people showed up. It was a beautiful, heart stopping experience to teach that class together, and it set the stage for many, many more gatherings of yogis there, then in Norwich, and finally in our beautiful studio in White River Junction. A handful of our original students from that very first class are still going strong with us (looking at you, Allison!). What I most cherish about the studio as I look back, is that you all, the students, as well as the uniquely talented teachers who make up our teaching staff, you have created the strong, community-centered, upper valley yoga anchor that we are today. So huge hugs of gratitude and love to you. I wish us all continuing joy and peace on the path we share.Love,Leslie
