Snoga!

Nope. Not me in that photo. But I have logged a number of hours on snowshoes in the past few weeks, with a yoga pose thrown in here and there. Mostly, I keep yoga and my other pursuits separate.

As my friend Gina puts it: “like peas and the other stuff on the plate. I don’t mix”. Every once in awhile I just can’t help myself. Whether or not you take your yoga a la carte or as part of a lifestyle/athletic/spiritual casserole, here’s my plea: go outside. Today. Yes, it’s super cold. Dress for it. Put on snowshoes. or skis. Or yak traks. Even if just to walk to the mailbox, go outside. 10 minutes or an hour. Lunch hour at work, or after work. Yes, do yoga too, for whatever time you can spare. But there is no substitute for getting properly attired and heading outside to rendezvous with our beautiful and stark winter clime. You’ll feel better, body and soul.
