Katy Allen
Katy began practicing yoga at 11 years old. She fell in love with the simple peace found in slowing down to breathe, feel and listen inward. Over the years, yoga has remained a transformative and healing practice in her life. She is driven to teach by what she knows in her heart: that yoga has tremendous power to help humans live peacefully on this earth and remember a deep reverence for our animate planet.
As a teacher, Katy aims to create a safe and nurturing space where students can slow down, come home to the presence and guidance of their own life force, and cultivate kindness towards themselves while building strength confidence and poise. She works to weave in perspectives from her other work as a massage therapist, activist and student of herbal medicine.
She has completed 400 hours of training in Hatha and Vinyasa Flow with School Yoga Institute and continuing education in Womb Yoga as taught by Uma Dinsmore Tuli
