— Suki—Jan 2, 2003–Sept 20, 2017Tomorrow marks the autumnal equinox. Another crank of the wheel and we say goodbye to one season and step forward into another. This year, that farewell pales in comparison to the one Greg and I made yesterday, as we let our almost 15-year old dog Suki be put to sleep here at home and in our arms. A good decision, a devastating decision, we are both pretty wrung out today. She was a remarkable, beloved, funny, athletic companion. At almost 15, she grew up with our boys, was there for all the school-aged milestones. It was hard to see her decline and diminish over the past couple of years, and brutal to hold her sweet head while she died, but she was clearly suffering. Enough said; I will be brief—as we take a quarter turn into autumn, as always, some things will be changing on the schedule. I've outlined the changes below, which generally begin in October (please see calendar for specifics and to sign up)Sundays:—Kate will continue her popular Slow Flow class but it will shift to 3 pm—Amanda will teach Kundalini Yoga 4:30–5:45 pm—Miriah will teach Prenatal Yoga (if enough people register!) 12:30–1:45 pm (see Events Page for dates)Thursdays:—Early Kundalini class will likely be canceled, depending on attendance in coming week—Miriah will teach prenatal Yoga (if enough people register!) 4–5:15 pm.—Miriah will teach the 5:30 class, which will now be a level 2 Vinyasa Flow class (begins this evening)Meanwhile, the new classes, Friday Noon Flow and the Thursday evening Beginners class are off to a good start and will continue. There may be further changes affecting the weekday classes; much is up in the air right now, so do keep an eye on the online calendar and also, let me know if there's a class you'd like to see offered at UVY. I'm so grateful for the feedback, the requests, and most of all for the showing up, day after day, week after week, and year after year. Happy Equinox, and Shana Tova! With love,Leslie
