When all is said and done, we are adaptable! 

If there is a silver lining to this challenging time of disease-enforced social distancing, self-isolating and widespread anxiety and uncertainty, it is knowing that we are adaptable. Humanity has been dealt a hard blow and alongside the fear and the unknowing, we are finding new ways.


WE ARE UP AND RUNNING!

Last Sunday was our online launch and as such, a little daunting for me; never done a live broadcast, was unsure about the tools, but we did it! And more importantly, many of you joined in. So, though I felt unsure of myself at times, I had only to remember who was there with me, if virtually—you! And I was met with a surge of love and wellbeing and the sense that we can do this. Together.  We can. The group was awesome, the feedback and overwhelming gratitude has been heartening, and the desire to reach out while we hunker down is going to continue to inspire us to find ways for us all to practice together. We can continue to be a community and to practice together and take care of our bodies, our minds and spirits through the powerful medium of yoga.


HOW TO

Let's keep it simple:

Make sure you have Chrome, as this browser works better with Zoom than others.

Download the Zoom app if you don't already have it. (if you don't have the app, you will receive a prompt to download at the time you click the broadcast link)

Watch this 1 min movie to begin to learn your way around Zoom.

Go to uppervalleyyoga.com. 

Log in.

Go to classes, schedule.

Click the 'sign up and pay' link for the class you want to take (you must sign up ahead by at least 30 minutes, or the link will not be visible) . If you don't have credits in your account or an unlimited pass, you will be prompted to the pay portal. 

After you've signed up,  see the "broadcast link" just underneath the "deregister" link.

Click "broadcast link" about 15 minutes before the start of class, so you have time to figure out your settings, "chat" if you wish with your fellow yogis, and settle in for yoga. (You don't have to wait for any email from us to get the link, or anything like that.) 

You're in! Welcome to class.

We'll take it from there. (If you are new to Zoom, take a look over the other tutorials on the Zoom site sometime to become familiar with how to mute your mic, shut off your video, change the screen settings, etc.)

We currently have 22 livestream classes a week.

Each week we will add more classes, and new offerings as well.

Each week we will offer one free class, time will vary so check the schedule often.

And soon we will record a few practices and post them to our facebook page so that you—free of charge—have access to bring us into your own home practice whenever you'd like. 

The "community kindness" pass lets you drop in for only $10 and we invite you to use this pass if you too have taken a financial hit

We are learning as we go, as you are, so please be patient if things don't always go smoothly. It keeps getting better. 

We are thrilled we have a way to connect: in addition to our regular classes, here are the things you can expect soon:

Yoga for families. 45 minutes. 2-3 pm. Geared to age 9 and up. Days tba.
One low rate, as many family members as you can fit into your living room/kitchen/den. (Family pets welcome)
