Valentine's Day....
sigh...
Yes, it's soooo commercial. Yes it is there to make money for the cardcompanies, candy manufacturers, and sellers of all heart-shaped mannerof doo-dad.
But I find as I witness all the acrimony and strife, viciousness anddeceit front and center in our white house and trickling down from thereinto our listening ears, watching eyes; that I can't object to aholiday that celebrates love.

Bring it on. Let the 'love reign o'er me' (I recently rediscovered TheWho's 'Quadraphenia', and this anthem to love is at least as powerful tome now as when I was 14 and listened to it on repeat. Google it)

A drenching rain of love to soften the dry cracking mud of hate, cynicism and hardness....well, that sounds about right to me.

And if you want a dose of that this Valentine's Day, come Friday nightto our free community class, an exploration of the 5 elements, taught byAngie and accompanied by Josh on acoustic guitar, guaranteed totenderize the heart. Love reign o'er me indeed! What a way to celebratelove of each other and the natural world without buying a thing!

And don't forget to love yourself. As Rumi says:

“Do you know what you are?
You are a manuscript of a divine letter.
You are a mirror reflecting a noble face.
This universe is not outside of you.
Look inside yourself;
everything that you want,
you are already that.”
