First Friday: Yin Yoga - Erin (5:30 pm - 7:00 pm)

Once a month, White River Junction hosts First Fridays, where many of the local shops, studios, and galleries stay open late. It's an impromptu first Friday of the month happening. This month, First Friday coincides at UVY with Erin's monthly Yin class, so you are in for a real treat!  This class will highlight the most fundamental of yin sequences, the series of poses that impact the kidney meridians and our basic storehouse of energy and wellbeing. After a brief active warm-up sequence, this “yin-iest” of practices will consist of longer-held, floor-based, gentle back- and forward-bending poses with some simple twists. It is an opportunity to tap into and bolster our energy reserves for all of  the demands of the changing seasons, and to dwell for a bit in a quieter mindset. This is also a great sequence to get to know yin! Old friends and newcomers all warmly welcome.   Bring clothes comfortable to move in, a mat if you have one, On First Fridays, class is free for Upper Valley Yoga newcomers.  For others: $15 to drop in (or use your card).

Anusara means "flowing with Grace,” “flowing with Nature,” “following your heart.”  Founded by John Friend in 1997, Anusara is a school of hatha yoga which combines tantric philosophy of intrinsic goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment that bring the body into a balance of stability and freedom.

Anusara-Inspired™ Level 1: This class introduces the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment in a clear and concise way through postures, breathing techniques, and life-affirming tantric philosophy. A supportive and fun class for beginners or those wanting a basic class.
