YIN YOGA - Erin (5:30 pm - 7:00 pm)
Yin Yoga
Even though it feels like winter hasn’t yet gotten a toehold, with a noticeable increase in daylight and plenty of bare spots on lawns, the transition toward spring is building. In the Chinese five element system that informs yin yoga, seasonal transitions are opportunities to tune into the earth element, giving us stability in times of change. The corresponding yin poses are ones that open the front body (low lunges, gentle back bends) and bring about calm and ease. We’ll start with a warming yang sequence (I am fresh from a yoga-for-athletes training at Kripalu, and have some fun things to share) before settling into our earthbound yin sequence of longer-held floor-based poses. All levels and drop-ins welcome.

ACRO WORKSHOP WITH LORI MORTIMER (1:00 pm - 3:00 pm)
Acro Yoga Mtl is a grounding and uplifting practice that can be playful, challenging and expansive.
Students are guided through a Vinyasa warm up that includes: core
conditioning, inversions, balancing postures and arm balancing. Guided
group activities and creative process help increase awareness and
sensitivity with one another. Following this, partners receive each
other’s weight during safe exercises to prepare for flying and basing.
We work with a group of three during the Acro yoga sequences. One
person will be spotting the base and flyer for safety and support. Your
roles will often rotate so that each person can experience something new
and learn what the dynamics are to each position.

Lori Mortimer, RYT, is an interdisciplinary yoga and Acro yoga Mtl instructor with 18 years experience practicing yoga. In 2000, Lori began teaching yoga and has served as yoga instructor for UVM physical education and medical students, Champlain College, Yoga Mountain, Ayurvedic Center of VT, and Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. Lori's vision is to create safe space and support for people to try out dynamic new practices which nourish the human spirit, body and mind while generating a web of interconnectedness. www.sattvayoga.wordpress.com
