The Date With A Deity Series continues with
Saraswati, Goddess of Knowledge and the Arts
Sunday, May 23, 9:00-11:00 A.M.

Many are familiar with Hinduism's Trimurti ("great trinity"), comprised of Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the sustainer), and Shiva (the destroyer). Perhaps lesser known but held in equal esteem are the female consorts of the Great Trinity, the Tridevi ("three goddesses"). These three goddesses, Saraswati, goddess of knowledge, Lakshmi, goddess of beauty, and Kali, goddess of power, are revered--not as a secondary source of power but as the primal power, the shakti that flows through our body and all of nature.

Come celebrate the creative power of Saraswati, first of the Tridevi and the first Hindu goddess to be worshiped. In a morning of stories, asana and chanting, we'll examine this feminine archetype who has inspired musicians, writers, artists, and scholars for ages.

Connect with earth via standing poses.
Flow with water in hip openers and twists. Open to the sky with heart and shoulder-opening poses.
Fire up your life with hand balances and backbends.
Deepen your connection to the breath with pranyama. 
Expand your limitless potential—open to the ether all around.
